Canadian Willowherd
Since time immemorial, Native Americans have used liquid extracts from Canadian Willowherb (Epilobium angustifolium) for numerous applications such as healing burns and soothing skin irritations. Canadian WillowherbTM (CW) comes from northern Canadian prairies plants that have developed strong phytochemical properties to survive the harsh climate. The plant extract contains bioactive molecules such as oenothein B which has 5-α-reductase inhibitory activity. This enzyme is known to increase the amount of active testosterone, which causes acne breakouts. Moreover, the active ingredients in the plant extract have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Glycolic acid
Glycolic acid- is the smallest α-hydroxy acid (AHA), usually produced from sugar canes making it a completely natural product. The acid is colorless, odorless and its small chemical structure enables it to penetrate the skin. The acid is water-soluble, and when it is applied onto the skin it dissolves the connective tissue between the upper skin cells. As the deeper layer of the skin is exposed, a better penetration of other active ingredients is achieved. Moreover, the glycolic acid is antioxidant and improves wrinkle appearance by stimulating the fibroblast cell to produce more collagen and elastin.
Dextran
Dextran is an active ingredient in the ACNON series, that has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Moreover, dextran moisturizes the skin without generating an oily sensation. Dextran is effective against P. acnes bacteria and prevents recurrence of acne spots.
Kollaren
Kollaren® is a biomimetic peptide* derivative of the hepatocyte growth factor.
